Sonography is a medical imaging technique that utilizes high-frequency sound waves to generate real-time images of the internal structures of the body. It is a safe and non-invasive procedure that does not involve the utilization of ionizing radiation. In a sonography exam, a small handheld device called a transducer is employed. The transducer emits sound waves into the body and detects the echoes that are reflected back from the organs and tissues. These echoes are subsequently converted into images by a computer and displayed on a monitor in real-time.
