Orbit Plain CT-Scan

For the plain CT scan, no contrast dye is used. This provides a baseline image of your orbits. After the initial images are taken, a contrast dye may be injected into a vein in your arm. The dye helps to enhance the visibility of blood vessels, tumors, inflammation, and other abnormalities in the orbits. You may feel a warm sensation or a metallic taste in your mouth when the dye is injected.
